A microschool is a small, student-centered learning community designed to reimagine what school can be. At the Westmoreland Institute for Lifelong Learning (WILL), our microschool combines the best of personalized instruction, project-based learning, and real-world application. With fewer than 20 students per class, every learner receives individualized attention and the flexibility to learn at their own pace while engaging deeply with subjects that matter.
Unlike traditional schools, microschools operate more like learning studios—spaces where curiosity drives learning. Students work on hands-on projects that connect reading, writing, math, and reasoning to real-life experiences in sustainability, entrepreneurship, and community engagement. Our approach empowers students who need a flexible learning environment to build confidence, think critically, and apply their skills beyond the classroom.
